Still Standing, Still Smiling: Why We Continue to Serve

Running a nonprofit isn’t easy—especially when finances are tight. But even in the struggle, we smile. We smile because our clients need us. We smile because despite the challenges, we still show up. And most importantly, we smile because the work matters.
Since 2016, we’ve been in the fight—advocating, supporting, and holding space for families navigating some of life’s toughest moments. And while the journey hasn’t been without its bumps, we’re still here. We’re still standing.
But here’s the truth: sometimes, to keep moving forward, a founder has to take a step back.
Not out of defeat—but out of wisdom.
It’s in that quiet space that new ideas can grow. It’s where people with fresh perspectives, who have their ear to the streets and hearts rooted in the community, can rise into leadership roles. And sometimes, stepping back means simply listening—really listening—to what our clients are saying, what they need, and how we can serve them better.
Because our work is not just about programs or services—it’s about people.
We will continue to advocate for those who feel like they have no voice. We will continue to counsel those carrying the weight of trauma and help them find space to heal, to breathe, and to hope again. We do this work because it’s a calling.
We do this work because of the mothers who reach out when they’re on the verge of giving up—when life feels like it’s beating them down and they don’t know where else to turn.
We do this work because we believe in them.
So yes—times may be tough. But we are tougher.
And through it all, we are still smiling.
